Character bunnies stitched onto a pieced background. These bunnies are made of tiny snippets of a wide range of fabric, glued into place and then stitched with free motion stitching. Some machine and hand embroidery are added for texture.

Use your own colour scheme.

Make only one for a bag or book cover or 9 for a small wall hanging. In a one day class students should finish one bunny.

Skills level:  All, but a knowledge of free motion stitching is helpful.

A really fun class, using your scraps to make colourful pieced birds.  Margaret has permission from Lynne Tyler (patcherymenagerie.blogspot.co.nz) to teach this class using her Liberated Birds tutorial, on condition that you buy your own copy from her Etsy shop, PatcheryMenagerie. There is a link on the sidebar of her blog, and the tutorial currently costs NZ$20. It is an instant download PDF file of 40 pages. Print it all off if you want to, but at least print pages 9, 18, 19, 20, 21, 23, 25, 26, 27, 28.

Margaret will guide you through the process of choosing fabrics, cutting the pieces required and stitching them together, telling you all the tips and tricks she has worked out.  She will also discuss how to join all the birds together into a quilt top, with several options.
